Carangi appeared on many more covers of Vogue and Cosmopolitan before dying of complications from AIDS in 1986.


Intense and riveting! It is a voyeur film in the sense that the thrill is watching as Angelina Jolie BECOMES Gia in every sense of the word. Her performance is one of the best portrayals of real people in years. She is completely and utter believable. She captures what is surely the essence of Gia. She brings a desperate wanting to the character that you can feel.
